rather than相当于instead of。
注意下面两点：
1. 相同点：他们的意思相差不大放在句首：不是---而是---放在句中：而不是例如： Rather thanthe fat girl.,I love the thin girl.2.不同点……instead of 接动词的时候，动词加ing，而rather than 可以跟动词ing结构，也可以跟动词原形。Rather than being pleased she got angry.Rather than catch her when she was stealing things, I shouted at her.
